Peter Hargreaves: I don't think the stockmarket has peaked

Bull market still has further to run

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Peter Hargreaves believes the equity bull run has further to go, despite growing fears of an imminent correction as markets reach fresh record highs.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Hargreaves said equity markets are set to move even higher from recent peaks. The FTSE 100 index is currently around the 7,500 mark, which is more than double its level since the rally began in March 2009. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above the 23,000 barrier for the first time earlier this month, hitting a new record on the back of fresh reassurances from US President Donald Trump about his proposed tax reforms.
