Ex-Winton CIO and Jupiter sales director team up to launch quant fund business

A trio of former Winton employees, including ex-CIO Matthew Beddall, have joined forces with Neil Carter, former global financial institutions sales director at Jupiter, to launch fund business Havelock London that will combine active fund management with quant strategies.

Beddall is joined by former Winton colleagues Kate Land, who was research director at Winton and is now chief data scientist at Havelock London, and Alisdair Wren, who was Winton's technology director and is now Havelock's chief technology officer, in forming the business with Carter. Carter spent 13 years at Jupiter, firstly as strategic alliance manager before working his way up to sales director of global financial institutions in 2013, to latterly as head of Middle East & Africa.
