Fitz: Average fund performance fee drops from historical 'norm'

Research company Fitz Partners has found the average performance fee charged by European cross-border funds has fallen from 20% to 16%.

Looking at 1,020 funds investing in the "main asset classes" in its latest edition of its Performance Fee Benchmarking Report and Database, Fitz Partners analysed the calculations of funds' performance fees and their choice of benchmarks. CEO Hugues Gillibert said the performance fee has fallen considerably: "It is worth highlighting the average performance fee now charged through the main asset classes is around 16%, a drop from the 20% fee that was considered as the norm in the past.
