Asian hedge funds post strongest performance since 2015

Indian hedge funds were leading the performance tables in the first quarter of 2017, according to hedge fund analyst HFR, as Asian hedge funds post their strongest quarterly performance since 2015.

The HFR Asian Hedge Fund Industry Report found India and China posted particularly strong gains in the first quarter of 2017 with the  HFRX India Index surged 19%, its strongest quarterly gain since the second quarter of 2009. During the first quarter, the BSE Sensex stock market returned 14.9% in sterling terms.  Meanwhile, the HFRX China Index gained 10.4% in the first quarter, its highest quarterly performance since 2015.
