Bob Shearer to retire from BlackRock in August

Co-manager Tony DeSpirito to take over North American Income trust

Bob Shearer, co-manager of the BlackRock North American Income trust, has announced his plans to retire from the company at the end of August 2017.

Shearer's service with BlackRock dates back to 1997, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. He was also co-lead portfolio manager for the Equity Dividend fund and the BlackRock Natural Resources fund.
