A former Schroders equities trader has pleaded guilty to nine counts of insider trading and is to be sentences in June.

Damian Clarke is due to be sentenced by the Southwark Crown Court on 13 June. Clarke pleaded guilty to seven counts of insider dealing on 24 July 2015, and pleaded guilty to the remaining two counts on 15 March. The insider dealing was based on information, mainly about M&A, that Clarke obtained during his tenure at Schroders, where he was initially a fund manager's assistant and then an equity trader.  Clarke used this information to place trades using accounts in his own name and that of close family members.
