S.W. Mitchell makes foray into US with European alternatives strategy

Appointed sub-adviser on small-cap fund

S.W. Mitchell has been appointed to act as sub-adviser to a US liquid alternatives fund, marking its first significant foray into the US market.

The UK-based European equity specialist will sub-advise on the Balter European L/S Small Cap fund, which was launched at the end of last year.  The fund has been seeded with $25m from the US company. Fund house Balter Liquid Alternatives is a subsidiary of Boston-based $1.4bn hedge fund research and investment boutique Balter Capital Management.
