Bramson wins Electra battle to secure board place; Chairman resigns

Shareholders in Electra Private Equity have voted to elect activist investor Edward Bramson onto the board, after a public debate over the future of the trust.

At an extraordinary general meeting held today, 53.5% of shareholders voted in favour of Bramson's new role, according to Reuters. In a separate resolution, they also voted former PwC chairman Ian Brindle to the board as a non-executive director. However, chairman Roger Yates has resigned from the board with immediate effect to be replaced by Dame Kate Barker. It is seeking a new non-executive director with a view for that person to become chairman.
