Premier appoints new CIO and plans fund mergers as Jennings exits

Premier Asset Management has promoted Neil Birrell to chief investment officer after the exit of Mike Jennings.

Birrell joined the firm in January as a manager on the Alternative Strategies fund and will succeed Jennings (pictured), who is also head of global equities. Premier said Jennings will stay on while the handover takes place, before exiting the group and handing his funds over to colleagues. Jennings' Premier Strategic Growth fund will be managed by co-manager Jake Robbins, while Birrell will remain manager of the Premier Diversified fund. Before joining Premier, Birrell was previously chief investment officer at Framlington Asset Management and has 25 years investment experience. ...
