Polar Capital to launch global banks trust for Yakas and Brind

Polar Capital is set to launch a Global Financials Investment trust for managers John Yakas and Nick Brind, in a move to exploit lowly valuations of banks across the world, Investment Week understands.

The group plans to launch the trust at the end of June, and is looking to raise at least £100m from investors. The trust will have a fixed life structure, running for seven years, and will invest predominantly in banks across the globe. Some 70% of the fund will be exposed to banks, with the remainder spread across a wider pool of financials which is likely to include insurers and asset managers.
