SIG's Watson: We are in a major equity bull market

Equities are in the midst of a major global bull market, at a time when investors are significantly underinvested in the asset class, said Skandia Investment Group's Rupert Watson.

The head of asset allocation said this bull market began in March 2009 and is set to continue for decades thanks to China and emerging markets. Speaking at the FundsinFocus roadshow yesterday, Watson (pictured) said: "There are two defining economic events in history - the Industrial Revolution and the re-emergence of emerging markets, and we are still in the early stages of that process. "By 2050 there will be three large world economies - China, followed by India and the US, which will be same size. "GDP growth is likely to translate into equity returns for these countries." H...
