Update: Clougherty to join Fidelity

Fidelity Worldwide Investment has confirmed John Clougherty is joining as head of UK retail, as Investment Week exclusively revealed yesterday.

Clougherty (pictured) left Aviva Investors, where he was chief executive of the funds business, at the end of March following an announcement the group would be making "organisational changes", which resulted in the loss of 160 jobs. He takes on the new role on 11 June, with responsibility for Fidelity-branded fund business distributed via wholesale and intermediary channels. Ben Waterhouse will continue in his role as head of UK retail sales, reporting to Clougherty who will in turn report to Hugh Mullan, UK managing director.
