Britain must give more to the European Union by agreeing to a Europe-wide tax on financial transactions, according to a senior German politician.
The German government said Britain cannot "get away" with not contributing to the eurozone rescue package, and should be included in a Europe-wide Tobin tax on financial transactions. According to the Telegraph, Volker Kauder, the parliamentary leader of the Christian Democratic Union party headed by Chancellor Angela Merkel (pictured), said Britain must play its part.
