Mathur to front Martin Currie India launch

Former SWIP portfolio manager Divya Mathur will head up Martin Currie's forthcoming India fund, which is likely to come to market next year when there is sufficient investor appetite for the product.

The long-only equity fund will invest in multi-cap stocks from across the universe of Indian stocks available to foreign investors. The fund will strengthen Martin Currie’s growing global emerging market equity offering. Last year the group recruited SWIP’s six-strong emerging markets team, headed up by Kim Catechis.  Other team members include Alastair Reynolds, Andrew Ness, Jeff Casson, Mohammed Zaidi and Mathur.
