Neil Woodford, one of the UK's most highly regarded fund managers, is to give his views on the UK economy and stock market as he addresses investors in a conference call later this morning.

The head of investment at Invesco Perpetual, who is responsible for £23bn in UK equity assets, has described the current climate as one of best investment opportunities of his career: "I'm looking forward to setting the record straight. I believe investors think I require significant economic headwinds in order for my funds to perform, but in reality I am invested in some of the best quality companies in the UK stock market on ludicrously cheap valuations.
