High profile investment trust managers including Fidelity's Anthony Bolton and Jupiter's Alex Darwall are injecting huge amounts of personal capital into their own vehicles, according to research by broker Collins Stewart.
Bolton has pumped £3m of his own money into Fidelity China Special Situations while Darwall has put £10m into Jupiter European Opportunities. Other big names who have invested more than seven figures include Artemis Alpha Trust manager John Dodds; Colin McLean, who heads up SVM Global; and Jeremy Tigue, who manages the Foreign & Colonial investment trust. Christopher Mills, manager of North Atlantic Smaller Companies trust, heads the list with a £35m investment.
