Neptune's Wintle poised to bolster financials exposure

Neptune's head of US equities Felix Wintle is preparing to increase exposure to financials in his US Opportunities fund, which has had a long-term underweight to the sector.

The £632m fund has been underweight financials all year and currently has a 7% position in the sector. Over the last quarter, Wintle has been adding selected financials to the portfolio, including Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, and is now looking at other opportunities. "We might be looking to add to financials in the next few weeks as long-term rates keep moving up and as yields move up, this might make these stocks a bit more interesting," he said.
