Henderson's Peak comfortable with 12% Gartmore stake

Henderson's Stephen Peak remains comfortable with his near 12% stake in Gartmore despite seeing the fund manager's share price slide more than 30% this week.

Peak owns Gartmore across a range of his long-only funds, including New Star UK Alpha and Henderson UK Opportunities. He also holds the stock in his pan-European vehicles, Henderson European Focus (US mutual fund) and in an array of his long/short hedge products - including Henderson European Absolute Return. Henderson says Peak, the only manager at the group to hold Gartmore shares, is comfortable with his position. "The lower repricing of the IPO offered an attractive entry point into a fund management company with a high quality equities franchise," Peak said after the purchase....
