Isa purchases through investment trusts and their managers decreased 44% from £66.4m in the second quarter of 2001 to £36.9m in the second quarter of this year. Despite this, however, investment trust Isa purchases in the second quarter of this year were up 16% on sales of £31.8bn in the first quarter of 2002. Total purchases in investment trust saving schemes were also down in the second quarter of 2002 compared to the same period last year, falling 28% from £81.1m in 2001 to £58.5m this year.
