UK investors are returning to the asset management industry but are sticking to cautious products, according to statistics from the IMA. Investment funds under management of £311bn in August represented a 1% increase on the month before and 24% higher than August 2004. But while the UK All Companies sector ostensibly appeared to be the most popular category with £1.7bn of gross sales, retail investors were actually net sellers, disposing of £66m over the month.
