Aberdeen Asset Management, Jupiter, Invesco and Fidelity took in the bulk of Isa money until 6 March 2000. Aberdeen had emerged as a major player over the previous 12 months helped by strong demand for technology funds and split-caps investment trusts. It estimated that it was taking £6m-£7m of Isa money daily with the average amount invested per application being £5,000. On 1 March, the group received 1,664 Isas applications compared to the corresponding day in 1999 when it got 167 Pep applications.
