isas purchased through aitc-member trusts level off in second quarter as share prices dip
Purchases on investment trust Isas only marginally increased in the second quarter of 2004 over the same period in 2003 as share prices failed to increase. Isas bought through AITC-member investment trusts and their managers reached £21.7m in the three months from April compared with £21.62m in the same period in 2003. However, the figures represent a fall of 7% from £23.29m, compared with the key Isa sale season of the first quarter of 2004, leaving the total market cap of the investment trust Isa schemes in June 2004 at £436m.
