The Government will extend the existing Isa limits until 2009, subject to consultation. It was originally expected that the annual allowance of £7,000, including a £3,000 cash maximum, would fall to a £5,000 and £1,000 respectively in 2006, but Chancellor Gordon Brown announced the U-turn in last week's Pre-Budget report.
