New Star has recruited Robin White to manage a hedge fund, which will invest predominantly in property securities. The firm expect to launch the fund in the last quarter of 2007. White will join New Star in September from Rock Capital where he managed the Rock Real Estate Securities fund, which is invested in property securities on a long/short basis. The initiative follows the launch of the group's Multi-Strategy Hedge fund in August last year.
