HSBC Investments has launched a Russian Equity fund to expand its emerging markets range. The HSBC GIF Russia Equity fund will have UK distributor status and be headed up by Douglas Helfer. The offshore vehicle is a sub-fund of HSBC’s Luxembourg-based Global Investment Funds (GIF) Sicav range, which is available for sale in 35 countries. It holds 20-30 stocks including locally-listed Russian equities, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) and Global Depository Receipts (GDRs).
