The Boards of Royal Liver and Royal London have terminated their discussions in relation to a combination of the societies. The two originally announced the talks on 30 April, since when the management and boards of both organisations have examined the benefits of and structure for a combination of the societies. After careful consideration, the Board of Royal Liver said although the proposal from Royal London had considerable merits for its members, those interests will be better served by pursuing an independent strategy.
