The FTSE 100 continued its bounce today led by the strength of housebuilders, following Goldman Sachs’ decision to increase its target prices across the sector. The benchmark index rose 49.60 points to 5538.8, boosted by building supplies group, Wolseley, which rose 43.25 points to 464 amid speculation it could sell its US operations. Ballway also rose 44.5 points to 646.5, Bovis up 35.5 points to 473.5 and Taylor Wimpey up 8.25 points to 59.5.
