Video game development has a long and storied history in the UK.

Grand Theft Auto, one of the world's best-selling series, was born in Dundee, Candy Crush Saga and the Batman: Arkham franchise are developed in London, while the quirky Lego video games hail from Maidenhead. Unfortunately, many British studios were private or bought up by larger games companies in the US and Japan.
