The recent pace of global corporate activity and in particular that seen in the UK has been overwhelming, Mike Lenhoff, chief strategist at Brewin Dolphin said. The number of acquisitions in the UK market, which in the main still involves domestic companies buying other domestic firms, has doubled since the lows of 2002, according to the group. But while historically activity has been predominantly domestic, the interest of foreign buyers has been increasing rapidly.
