Anthony Bolton’s overseas stockpicking on Fidelity Special Situations helped performance in the second quarter of the year, although holdings in the FTSE and some UK small caps damaged returns. The fund has had an average year against its own high standards, ranking 156 out of 291 All Companies funds over 12 months to 25 September. The portfolio has now split into separate UK and global vehicles, with Jorma Korhonen to take over the latter from January 2007.
