Scott McGlashan and Clive Beagles, respective managers of the JOHCM Japan and UK Equity Income funds, are both prepared to take a contrarian approach to their markets. Launched in May 2004, McGlashan’s Japan fund has made returns of 14.98% in the year to August 14 2006, against a sector average of 13.84%. All data is on a bid to bid basis according to Standard and Poor’s. McGlashan works with Ruth Nash to identify potential holdings.
