I think 2010 could surprise the sceptics, many of whom were wrong-footed by the 2009 rally.
There is a real chance bust could turn to boom this year. Commodities will be the main focus of investor attention in 2010. Commodity analysts are fixated by China but, developed economies are likely to deliver surprisingly strong growth. Industrial restocking from these sleeping giants should boost commodity prices and I also expect increased investor buying interest, fuelled by fears of inflation and cheap dollar funding.
