UN investor group takes aim at mining sector's ESG failings

Investors and religious leaders are backing a new global initiative to improve ESG standards across the mining industry, amid growing concerns over how the reputational and geopolitical risks faced by the sector could undermine the net zero transition.

Launched today (25 January), Global Investor Commission on Mining 2030 has the backing of the UN, the Principles for Responsible Investment and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
