AMP Capital appoints permanent CEO after Pahari departure

Former CEO left following misconduct charges

Shawn Johnson has been appointed chief executive of AMP Capital, taking on the role from David Atkin, who has served as interim CEO since September 2020.

Johnson brings more than two decades of experience in the industry to the role, including ten years as chair of the State Street Global Advisors Investment Committee. AMP Capital CEO steps down after two months following misconduct charges Effective 28 June, Johnson will take over from Atkin, who is due to depart the company on 31 July. The move marks the turning point in a turbulent period for the Australian-headquartered private markets business, which will look to put the brief tenure of Boe Pahari behind it.
