Equities attract nearly half of £6.2bn net April fund sales

Equity funds took in £2.9bn in net retail sales in April, marking almost half of the net inflows across asset classes during the month, which amounted to £6.2bn.

According to the latest Investment Association data, the Global sector was the bestseller during the month, taking in £1.7bn. Asian and Japanese equity funds were also popular, with net inflows of £245m and £161m respectively. Inflows into other regional funds were small, with UK taking in just £46m and North American funds, £22m. European equity funds even suffered small outflows of £72m.
