Kempen launches Diversified Distressed Debt Pool for alternatives range

Asset class 'performs well after crises'

Kempen Capital Management has tody (4 January) launched a fund-of-funds investing in distressed debt securities to sit within its existing alternatives range.

The Diversified Distressed Debt Pool aims to give investors "innovative and cost-efficient access to the distressed debt market", according to the Amsterdam-based firm, with chosen managers buying into debt of companies that are in operational distress, have defaulted or are in bankruptcy. It will provide investors with exposure to five distressed debt investment specialists and has an open-ended structure, which will allow investors to enter monthly and exit quarterly.
