Investment Week is pleased to announce our 25th Anniversary Fund Manager of the Year Awards will be held on Thursday 25 June at Grosvenor House, London.
This year's ceremony is a key part of Investment Week's 25th anniversary celebrations in 2020 and we will be presenting awards for Outstanding Fund Manager over 25 Years and Outstanding Industry Contribution over 25 Years.
A flagship event for the investment industry for a quarter of a century, the Fund Manager of the Year Awards honour fund managers and groups at the top of their game who have demonstrated consistently strong performance for investors and whom the judging panel believe have the potential to continue to outperform in the future.
Initial shortlists will be constructed using our unique methodology and data supplied by our partner Morningstar.
Winners will then be chosen by our highly experienced panel of fund selectors from across the industry following heated debate during our judging sessions over two days in May.
New awards this year include separate categories for China and India funds to reflect interest from Investment Week readers in single strategy vehicles in these regions.
We have also made a number of other category changes including splitting out the Global category into Global Growth and Global Income groupings, following discussion with our senior judges.
Meanwhile, Investment Week has acknowledged the investment industry is undergoing a significant transformation in terms of its approach to sustainable and ESG investing.
This year for the first time we are going to ask shortlisted groups explicitly about sustainability and ESG factors for the individual fund and group categories, which will then form part of the judges' qualitative assessments.
We have also introduced a new group category for Outstanding Achievement in Sustainable and ESG Investing to recognise progress in this area, which will be open soon for submissions.
In addition, we will soon be welcoming entries for our Fund Management Initiative of the Year category.
This is open to companies and organisations operating in the investment sector in the UK that have launched an innovative product, service or initiative over 2019/20 aimed at improving the functioning of the fund management sector or helping end investors.
This could include new technologies, tools, services, educational programmes or communication initiatives.
