HSBC Global Asset Management has today (6 February) announced the appointment of its first global head of external wholesale, Thorsten Michalik, in the newly created role.
Michalik will report into Christophe de Backer, global head of wholesale business and partnerships, and brings with him 19 years of experience, most recently as global co-head of distribution at DWS, prior to which he spent four years at UBS.
He will be responsible for distribution to discretionary wealth managers, private banks, banks, asset managers, IFAs and platforms, and ETF sales for both the institutional and wholesale businesses.
Christophe de Backer, said: "With over 20 years in the asset management industry, Thorsten's extensive experience will be instrumental as we look to grow our business and deliver the ambitious plans we have set out."
