Amundi appoints Monica Defend global head of research

Amundi has named Monica Defend its new global head of research, replacing Philippe Ithurbide, who has been promoted to the role of senior economic advisor to the group's general management.

Defend was previously deputy head of group research and has been a member of the global investment committee of Amundi since 2017. In this role, she worked on the definition of Amundi's investment strategy. Amundi fund merger sees range reduce from 150 to 90 amid Pioneer integraton   Prior to this role she was global head of asset allocation research, and before that held a role as head of quantitative research at Pioneer Investments. She began her career in the investment industry in 1997.
