Regulation has loomed large over the year, with firms working to meet the MiFID II deadline on 3 January 2018. However, with less than 30 days to go until the implementation date, research from Timico found over a third of UK financial organisations are unprepared for MiFID II, with the repercussions of the new regulations set to dominate next year too. Firms' focus will now turn to ensuring they are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation, which aims to modernise the way data is collected and stored, by the 25 May deadline.
