A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting John Timpson of the shoe repair chain.

He is a very down to earth businessman who has written a number of books, including his current one, which could loosely be called a 'management' book. I say loosely because Timpson's type of management lessons are 50 things he has learnt over the lifetime he has been involved in running the family business, which has survived and prospered for close to 150 years.
