Ignis' head of US equities Terry Ewing tells Investment Week why he thinks companies in Florida and Texas will drive GDP growth in 2013, and discusses the top ten companies he met during a recent visit to the States.

I have just returned from America, having visited a number of companies based in Florida and Texas, the states that I think will be the core drivers of US GDP growth this year, which we envisage to be between 2% and 2.5%. This remains ahead of forecasts for the UK and Europe. The management I met reinforced my view that companies are taking advantage of the incredibly low cost of debt and are also benefiting from strong balance sheets and the highest level of free cashflow in the history of the US.
