A century after Captain Scott and Roald Amundsen raced to the South Pole, six British soldiers are attempting to complete the same challenge.
Sponsored by Liontrust and Matrix, Lieutenant Colonel Henry Worsley and Warrant Officer Class 2 Mark Langridge will each lead a three-man team along the routes taken by Amundsen and Scott 100 years ago. “We are celebrating a great national event, which ended in tragedy with Scott’s death,” said Worsley. “That tragedy is seared in our national consciousness.
