Applications for the hottest job in financial services - chief executive of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority - closed last Friday. I noticed the ad in The Times the other week, alongside one for head of learning and events at Bafta, after bumping into a bloke from Eastenders who was reading the paper and ranting about the recent Bafta awards. Apparently there was outrage that Eastenders and Life on Mars only won an award each - amazing who you meet in the pub.
