This week's Conjecture panel discusses how stock pickers make the grade

The growing level of private equity interest in large UK companies spells bad news for investment grade bond holders. That was the opinion of panellists John Pattullo of Henderson's and Paul Brain of Newton at the most recent Conjecture debate. While Pattullo is avoiding FTSE stocks that are bid targets, Brain claims to be looking on a stock-by-stock basis. The pair also differed on buying UK companies that are heavily exposed to the domestic consumer.
