CFA UK survey reflects 'less promising outlook' from investors

According to a recent CFA UK survey based on its quarterly Valuations Index, the popularity of emerging markets and bonds among investors fell in Q1.

The survey measured investors' perceptions of the value of bonds, gold and equities in Q1 2019. Multiple changes in investors' views of the core asset classes have been identified since the previous quarter as less buying appeal was seen in emerging market equities and bonds. This comes after a period of underperformance for emerging market equities in 2018. However, the results reflect the perceived value correction of the asset class over Q1 with the value of emerging market equities between these two quarters increasing from $998 to $1,051.
