Seven Investment Management (7IM) has appointed Dr Terence Moll, formerly head of investment strategy at Coutts Investments, as its chief strategist.
Prior to joining 7IM, Moll worked at Coutts Investments for three and a half years, initially as head of asset allocation and then as head of investment strategy until this May. This role involved managing strategic and tactical asset allocation across all the firm's portfolios, and taking responsibility for fund and product selection.
Previous roles have included head of multi-asset allocation for the UK's largest pension scheme, the Universities Superannuation Scheme.
He also spent five years at Investec AM in a variety of roles including head of multi-asset research, head of quant research and strategist.
Tom Sheridan, chief executive of 7IM, said: "Terence comes with considerable experience, with a background in multi-asset investing, strategy and quant research, which was almost written for this role.
"We are thrilled to welcome him into the 7IM family after a period of rapid growth and development."
Moll said: "7IM has a disciplined, team approach to running money, with multi-asset investing at its core and given my background in this area, it feels like coming home.
"The owner manager culture, focused purely on investment management, has a strong appeal, as does the breadth and depth of funds and products available. I am delighted to join the team."
7IM recently expanded with the acquisition of Edinburgh-based Tcam Asset Management, which was founded by Alex Montgomery and Haig Bathgate in 2015 and has £1.1bn in assets under management.
