EFAMA director general De Proft to step down after 11 years

Peter De Proft, director general of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) has announced he will step down from his role by June 2019.

The news was revealed at the association's annual general meeting hosted last week by the Cyprus Investment Funds Association. De Proft, who has headed the industry body for the past 11 years, will remain as an honorary director general to the association and will have an advisory role to his replacement during the transition period. The search process for a replacement has commenced, and EFAMA is planning to appoint the new director general early next year.
