Jupiter expands team ahead of US long/short fund launch

Jupiter Asset Management has hired Darren Starr as a fund manager on its liquid alternatives business as the firm plans a further fund launch on the back of client demand.

Starr, who has dual US and UK citizenship, joins today from Segantii Capital Management, where he worked as a portfolio manager since September 2016. He has over ten years' experience managing US equity long-short portfolios across roles at UBS, SAC Global Investors and Caxton. At Jupiter, Starr will work closely with the absolute return team, including fund managers James Clunie and Mike Buhl-Nielsen. The group's liquid alternatives business already has £1.9bn in assets under management.
