NN Investment Partners has appointed Yvette Babb from JP Morgan for its emerging market debt team.
Babb joined NN IP from JP Morgan at the start of April as a portfolio manager.
At JP Morgan, she worked as a chief economist and strategist for Sub-Saharan Africa for two years, and previously worked at Standard Bank in South Africa.
In her role she will focus on frontier market analysis as well as hard currency and local currency portfolio management.
This will involve working alongside Marco Ruijer, lead portfolio manager EMD hard currency and lead portfolio manager frontier market debt, and Lewis Jones, lead portfolio manager EMD local currency, and their teams.
NN IP's EMD team consists of 20 staff and managed $10bn across the EMD spectrum.
Last month, NN IP launched its eighth EMD vehicle, a fund focusing on short duration.
Marcelo Assalin, head of EMD at NN IP, said: "We are very pleased to appoint Yvette as portfolio manager in our EMD team and welcome her to NN IP.
"Yvette has a wealth of experience in analysing frontier markets. Her appointment emphasises the growing importance of this part of the emerging markets universe, and the role NN IP wants to play in this space. I strongly believe that her background and experience will make her a valuable addition to our EMD team."
